Leonard Nimoy and John de Lancie reprise their well-loved Star Trek roles as the Vulcan Mr. Spock and the omnipotent Q in this original program from the actors' production company. In this dramatization, Spock has traveled back in time to warn the citizens of Earth of impending destruction by an asteroid on a collision course with the planet. The inimitable Q appears to warn Spock about giving away too much information, and the two engage in a verbal debate over whether humanity is worth saving. Trekkers will relish the opportunity for fresh material about their favorite characters, wonderfully voiced by the actors themselves. Both Nimoy and de Lancie are magnificent, and fans will appreciate the subtle in-jokes and references to the show's episodes and films. The appreciative live audience joins in the fun by providing cheers and catcalls to accompany the well-placed sound effects and lively musical introduction. Even those who are not necessarily Star Trek fans will enjoy the engaging riddles, compelling acting, and timely plot in this superb recording.
